FOREVER MY PEEPS

So, I have come to the conclusion in my old age... that we should always be willing to try new things... or extend ourselves to new experiences. There is always room for growth... and trust me I am always growing ( in size as well !!) This was my thinking when I chose to coach cheer.... I knew nothing about cheer... what I knew is that I loved kids.. Hence why I am a teacher. Well, I learned a lot from the experience of coaching... good and bad. But, as in all good and bad experiences I grew and am grateful for the experience... But, I have learned something else in my even older age !! We must be willing to try new things so that we can build relationships with people. It is these new adventures we take that lead us to people that will forever touch our lives and change us..... In my experience of coaching cheer... I have met these two lovely ladies, that have forever changed my life. So you see, trying new things whether they turn out good or bad.... always leave you with more than you started with... Because through these experiences I have added two more to "Forever Being My Peeps". :>)

WHAT CHRIS SAID...

So big news... my sis is getting married... Yah I am officially an old maid now. I am sure there will be pics to follow soon. Both younger siblings will be married. :>) Most of you have probably heard me talk about Chris Brinagh before.. or you know that he is pretty much my brother... been adopted into my family. Well, he said one of the coolest things about family when he met Stacy's fiance. Chris hasn't had the easiest life or easiest family... but he has shined and risen above all that, and I look up to him for that... but anyways back to what he said when he met Stacy's man... he shook his hand and said, "Blood in, blood out." I loved it !!

We all of us at times sacrifice for our families, as they sacrifice for us... and once you are in... you pretty much would have to kill to get out !!! I guess it is poetic gang stuff... but needless to say so true, and I love what Chris said that day... and I am glad he and his woman and nelly buns are a part of my family. Can't think of anyone better taking care of my blood. :>)

ODE TO MY DOGGIES !!!

So I am sure you can tell from my blog.. that I have been scanning like a freakin mad woman. As I scanned I found pics of all my dogs. Thus, I decided to do an ode to the dogs I have had over the years. Us Millers are definitely dog people. I have had quite a variety of dogs over the years. Some have passed on.. some I had to give away.. and some I still have... but all in all... I loved them all and still do !!

Willie... ah she was my first dog. It was hard when she had to go. She got beagle back.. it sucked, but what a good dog. Miss her !!

This is Sammy.. she was such a lover. She was my brothers dog.. then became my dad's dog when my bro went on his mish. She was so loyal and cuddly... but wow was she obsessed with food. She was an amazing acrobat when food was in play!!

This is Sabastian.. he is like sixteen now. I got him from a pound in Cedar City. The first time he saw my dad it was like love at first sight for the both of them. So he is with my dad now... couldn't take him away from my pops. :)

This is Roxanne... coolest dog.. but what a handful.. I had to give her away cause I was scared she was going to eat Zoe. My dad has lovely memories of taking care of her... NOT !!

Me and Freeway.. he was a spaz !!

This is Buddy. He was the coolest neighborhood dog when I lived on Sugar Leo in the George... He liked our house the best.. of course. :>)

This is Joxer... he was the cutest.. One of those Hush Puppies..

Strong and spirited. You're no one's girly girl; actually you are very determined person with a strong sense of self. Never let go of that! The only thing that equals your sense of self is your family, but the traditions of society can always be bent to protect something or someone you love.

MEMORIES OF STUFFED FRIENDS

Today I was going through some old books... organizing a little... and I found my old Calvin and Hobbes books. This is my favorite comic strip. I forgot how much I loved it till I started reading them again. Hilarious !!! Reminds me of when I was a child. I LOVED stuffed animals. I used to line them up on my bed, and each had their own spot and name. It used to take me hours to make my bed. :>) When I was little... my stuffed animals were my friends...as Hobbes is with Calvin. I think that is part of why I love this comic so much... besides the fact it makes me laugh. As I read it now... not only do I remember my childhood, but the comic also reminds me of my nephews. Found some strips, pics, and animation that show why I love it so much...

I AM RAINBOW

This is one of my favorite poems... I love nature and I love how this poem uses nature to illustrate how at times we must look within ourselves to find our own rainbows. Love it!

Looking in a puddle on a semi- rainy day
I saw myself but dimly
Imperfect, and muddy with other
I wavered as the puddle did, as raindrops struck
Sending ripples out like waves of pain
Not quite shattering in shards, distortions of my image

Then I looked up--
What? Was that a flash of color?
Sun and rain, laughter and pain
I saw it melt together,
I saw it become one
The winds of change blew in waters of healing
And the lowly dust became fixed and stable
And was wrapped around by her transforming light
Reflections and refractions
I saw the sign of hope, the symbol of renewal

I saw the rainbow bridge, that crosses heaven and earth
And I realized that....
I AM RAINBOW
I saw then my image with the ripples of life's pain
Spreading outward but stopped, healed, and cleansed

Reflected and refracted away as nature, and nature connected
The rain still falls, still strikes, still stings
And I am wetted
But no longer drowning

The colors shown bright in my countenance
My choice to see the image I know
And I went forth and had myself
A bright and shining multi-colored day

I LOVE YOU MY POPS

Fathers day today.. hung out with pops at church, at home, at IN N OUT.. at Kung Fu (Yah broke the sabbath). It reminded me of the good old days when we used to ditch Sunday School in Cali... and go to Del Taco. :>) Miller's can't go the whole three hours of church without a food break. Ha! I love you dad. These past couple of years have dealt you a lot, but you are stronger than anyone I know. I know this because you taught me to be strong. It will get better. Together as a family we can overcome all.... another thing you taught me. I made my pops some scrapbook pages for "Pops Day" I have included some of them here.... Just to remind him of our great family.. :>) Thank you my Pops...

I LOVE HAWAII

I have been to Hawaii twice now.. I absolutely love it there. Good old Loni Harward told me before I went the first time... that if I truly loved Hawaii I would feel it's spirit and fall in love. I did.... Some of my favs are included in these pictures. The flowers, the ocean, the lauas, the temple, the pineapple, the PCC, and the beauty.. the beauty everywhere... I am going to live there someday, that is a promise.
