Gettin' Paid for Service

This year at school I decided to be an advisor to another club. The club is called Interact and works with the Rotary Club doing service for the community. I mean seriously... you can never go wrong with service. Although, I kinda feel guilty cause I am getting paid to be the advisor... so I am not really serving. But, my great kids that signed up for the club are !! On Halloween morning, they woke up bright and early and went to help with the Monster Mash Run in Coral Canyon. I captured some great acts of service they did. Just watching service take place.... made me feel happy.. paid or not paid !! :) I am thinking we might do the Soup Kitchen on Thanksgiving Morning... Watcha think?

Merry Scaring

Halloween for me began on Friday and ended on Saturday night. I wasn't much into dressing up this year... I don't know kinda been Boo Humbugging lately. :) I didn't even put my decorations up !! I know blasphemy for me !! So besides that weirdness... here is a lowdown of my "Merry Scaring" festivities. First, I got to play a witch in one of our pep assemblies. The kids said I was a natural. :) I got the hackle down !! On Friday at school I had some cute and scary visitors. McConnell my favorite math teacher loves Star Wars... so he dressed up as Darth Maul. He snuck in my room when I wasn't paying attention and scared the crap out of me !! Friday night was our first playoff game the boys won and did a great job. Gotta love Flyer Football !! Saturday morning I woke up early to go to the "Monster Mash" to help my Interact Club do some service. More pics of that to come later. Then, me and Tessa Rou went over to Michelle's to chill with the fam for awhile. I then had a great time shopping with Shell and her sisters... Then went Trunk or Treating and dinner with Tessa, Stace, and Pops which was yummy. By the time I got home, I was exhausted.. I seriously fell asleep at like 10.... I am getting old !!

Thrilled Again

Another year of Halloween... another year of "Thriller". Angia came down and we went with my sista, Charlay, and his family to the show. As always, we loved it !! I forgot my camera though. :( One of my favorite new skits they did was a tribute to Michael Jackson. Not very Halloweeny, but still much needed. Five guys came out dressed like MJ and danced to one of his slow songs. They mirrored all the moves beautifully. During the dance, some little kids ran out and did the moonwalk. At the end of the dance, each MJ danced off the stage until their was one left... then a spotlight showed at the back of the stage.. Where the "King" Elvis Presley was waiting for Michael. He walked to him, embraced him, and they walked off the stage together. It was just awesome... I bahled. I got to go to the show again last night with my pops. It was freezing !! Snowing !! But, the show went on. I really wanted pops to see it. I don't know if he liked it a whole lot.. but I think there were parts that he enjoyed and was surprised he did. He is not big on the whole dancing thing. :) Thanks pops for going with me !! I love this show... and can't wait till next year !!

So as one that was raised by and lived with jocks !!! I always thought that guys who dance are gay... and it was just not attractive to me at all.. Now though, I have changed my thoughts on that... thanks to this show, and watching "So You Think You Can Dance." Now, the better a guy can leap and twirl.. the sexier I think he is. But, ballet... um still no !! This is one of the dancers in Thriller. He is my favorite... when he does the mummy dance... um.. and shakes his buns... um.. yah !! :)

Feeling Gleeful

K... Seriously, I am loving this show. It makes me laugh my ass off.. and then there is just great singing and dancing. I have put one of my favorite clips below:

Spooktacular !!

Stace and I had a blast at Disneyland. We left late afternoon on Wednesday and got to our hotel late that night. We were so excited we woke bright and early to get there when it opened at nine. We actually had to wait in line to get our bags checked. We have never been that on time before. The first ride we headed to was Ghost Galaxy. They changed Space Mountain into a scary Halloween treat. Scared the crap out of me... Scary music, and weird ghost faces and hands grabbing me. Then we went throughout the whole park enjoying are day. We were so excited... we stayed the first day for thirteen hours !! HA !! To end the night we watched the Halloween Fireworks show. Disneyland has always had fireworks since I can remember, but now they incorporate the castle with the fireworks. Lights shine all over the castle, as music is used to incorporate themes. It was awesome !! We topped of the show with a funnel cake from Frontierland. The next day we were so pooped.. and it was so hot.. we didn't stay as long. But, all in all, it was good times. We made it home late Friday night in one piece. Which is kinda a miracle since Stace drove half the way... can't drive stick, and can't see at night. Of course I found this out after the fact !! :) Thanks my sista for a great time !

I am Nesting

Okay so... I don't have my own kids... so I borrow other peoples. :) Here are two close and dear to my heart. Um... is it too much to ask.. that maybe one day they get hitched... and I kinda get some grandbabies !! Yah.. I don't know... just a thought. In the meantime.. I will enjoy when they come over to hang out and make me laugh.

ZZ Top Cutie

It has been awhile ago.... but I am still catching up on my posting... Chris and Lauren had their second baby.. "Zaniyah Lynn". For the longest time, we couldn't pronounce her name. So Stace and I started calling her ZZ Top. When Lauren started going into labor, Stace text me and said, "ZZ Top is coming !!". :) Now I got the the pronunciation down cause I just rhyme it with Shania Twain. But, all kidding aside, she is adorable. I am grateful for Chris, Lauren, and the girls being a part of my family. They are great parents, and I am lucky to have them around !!

My Chunky Monkey

My latest obsession are the "Chunky Monkey's" at Perks. Blended chocolate, caramel, hazelnut icee goodness... topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Um... as if I needed any help in the "chunky" area. So now next to my Diet Pepsi will from here on out be an empty cup of "Chunky Monkey".

Diva or Not?

Glitter TextGlitter TextGlitter TextGlitter Text

Okay... so I am a little bugged... It seems somewhere along the lines of my teaching career, the students at Dixie High School have labeled me a Diva. Um... I really don't know how I feel about this. Last year, when I won "Most Dramatic Teacher" I was a little perplexed. And, now for our Sadies Assembly, the kids want me to be Tyra Banks. My response was... "Um, you guys know I am not black right?" And their response was... "Well yah Miller but you are a Diva like her." K, WHAT ???!!! I mean I know I have my brand name purses and sunglasses and my bling bling jewelry. K, that way I might be a Diva... but, Diva's are bratty right? Am I bratty????.... Moody and bossy maybe... but bratty? Oh man, I even started liking Beyonce recently. Haha.. yah I am a Diva.. just writing this post answers that question for me !! Good hell !!

Can I Get an Amen !!

I am Mormon... not always a good one.. but am one that believes in the teachings and leaders of our church. Mormon's aren't known to stand up and sing hallelujah at church, or stand up and shout "AMEN" during a sermon. Our way of shouting an "AMEN" is crying, or patting someone on the back after a good testimony is bourne. But, in all honesty sometimes I wish I could just stand up and shout "AMEN" at the top of my lungs... or dance to "We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet" with the congregation. Well, I did just that this past weekend by myself while watching conference. We have hero's in our church... great speakers.. whose sermons have been recorded in our scriptures. I have always pictured these men as they speak... King Benjamin's stern, but loving face... Samuel the Lamanite showing no fear, as arrows spiral past him. I have envied at times the people that were able to be there and actually see these great men's faces as they spoke with such conviction. Well, this past weekend.. I got to see such a face !! Elder Holland's speech blew me away !! I mean, he did not mince words. He THREW DOWN !!! I loved it !! What a great testimony and conviction of the Book of Mormon he portrayed. I was clapping, jumping out of my couch dancing, crying with joy, and humbled into submission. So, for once I was able to shout... "AMEN" and do a jig... and I realized (stupid me) that I get to see great men.. like King Benjamin, and Samuel.. speak all the time. Now if I can just follow what is said better !! :)
